Actor Jason James Richter, known for his role in the 1993 film Save Willy, was arrested for domestic violence, according to a report.
An information officer from the Los Angeles Police Department confirmed to PEOPLE that Richter, under the name Gregory Richter, was arrested Monday at 11:45 pm North Hollywood of the Los Angeles Police Department.
City prosecutor spokesman Frank Mateljan told PEOPLE that the actor had been charged with two offenses after an altercation with his girlfriend.
"We have filed two counts of misdemeanor against him, one on the battery of another major that did not cause injury and the second on vandalism.
