Some additional details are being completed about the incident at halftime between Washington coach Jay Gruden and cornerback Josh Norman on Monday night.

According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, the incident began when Gruden approached the locker room to address the team. Norman was wearing his headphones, which is normal for him at half-time. But Norman had his back to Gruden too, which meant he did not realize Gruden had started speaking. This prompted Gruden to remove the helmet from Norman's head.

It caused Norman to get upset and leave, while Gruden called him, "If you keep walking, you will not start in the second half."

Norman did not start the second period, for reasons that Gruden refused to explain. But that seems to be the reason.

Washington signed a five-year, $ 75-million, five-year contract with Norman three years ago and failed to get the long-awaited production expected by the team. Norman can do a lot to reverse the trend in Washington by hosting a big game today against his former team, the Panthers.
