Jeep Gladiator pickup photos and specs leak ahead of debut

Photos of Jeep's hotly anticipated new pickup, our first look at the truck will be called "Gladiator."

It looks pretty much like you'd expect a Jeep pickup to look: basically a four-door wrangler with a five-foot bed.

The photos are from the Jeep media site, where they were uploaded early and then promptly taken down. The same thing happened when the name 'Gladiator' appeared on FCA's website. The JeepGladiatorForums spotted them immediately.

The Gladiator still hangs out of the JL Wrangler, making this a true Jeep. Two hard-top designs will be available along with a soft top, and the windshield will still be available for the complete outdoor experience.

Powertrain options have also been leaked, and they will fall into line with the JL Wrangler. That means you'll get a 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 or possibly the 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V6 that will be made available in 2020.

Both engine options can be coupled to an eight-speed automatic, while only the gasoline can accept the six-speed manual.
