Jeff Tweedy added to his already busy autumn a new solo album titled Hot, the second solo album of the leader Wilco after the retrospective Together finally in 2017.
Hot arrives on November 30 via Tweedy's dBpm Records. The album was recorded at the Chicago studio The Loft alongside collaborators like Glenn Kotche, Tom Schick and his son Spencer Tweedy.
Tweedy also shared the video for Hot"Some Birds", with the title interpreter in a statement, "like a lot of songs about Hotto be a confrontation between oneself and the shadow, feeling at the same time that I have to blame and not blame, be present and gone, and completely confused, but determined to hold someone accountable.
Seth Henrikson, director of "Some Birds," added, "The concept of the video naturally highlights Jeff's songwriting and lyrical genius. However, he also exploits another of Jeff's gifts – his strange sense of masculine fashion and hairstyles. I'm excited to share it with Tweedy fans!
Hot also contains liner notes written by George Saunders, author of Man Booker, who wrote the album: "Some lyrical flowers regularly spring on the 10 singers of this album. A son who has lost a father sings to his wife, his sons, this father. There are excuses and twins-mirrors; threats to enemies ("I would like to shoot you down / leave you there") and supplications ("Let's renew the rain!") and dreamy challenges ("I wonder what a language that fulfills a simple function: they once again like the language of the listener. Before his Hot announcement, Tweedy had already scheduled a release date on November 13 for his first memoir Let's go (so we can come back): Memory of registration and discord with Wilco, etc..
