The death of Brian Christopher Lawler, son of WWE legend Jerry Lawler, was confirmed Sunday by the WWE

. TMZ Sports reported that Lawler, who fought at WWE as Brian Christopher, had been placed in support of life after being hanged in his prison cell. He was arrested earlier in the month on DUI charges and escaped arrest in Tennessee.

Lawler fought for a number of different independent promotions including the United States Wrestling Association in Memphis, Tennessee, but most fans remember

The 46-year-old was half of the team Too Cool alongside Scotty 2 Hotty, Rikishi joining the group later

Lawler and Scotty 2 Hotty became the WWF team. champions on May 29, 2000, when they defeated Edge and Christian on Raw. They held the titles for 27 days before losing them to Edge and Christian at the King of the Ring in 2000.

The WWF published Lawler in 2001, and he made sporadic appearances on WWE television the years following. In preparation for Jerry Lawler's match against Michael Cole at WrestleMania XXVII in 2011, he returned to confront his father:

Lawler brought together Rikishi and Scotty 2 Hotty for an old-school edition of Raw on January 6, 2014 and defeated 3MB. He then scored with Scotty 2 Hotty in a game lost against The Ascension on NXT's arrival on February 27, 2014.

Too Cool was one of the most popular teams during the Attitude Era of the WWF, so we will always remember Lawler among a generation of fight fans.
