Actor Jim Carrey responded to Ted Cruz on Monday after the outgoing Republican Senate president did not appreciate his latest illustration.
"Wow … sorry I shook your chain, @TedCruz," the Joke the actor tweeted. "I thought you'd have more important things to do two days before an election – like sucking the guy who called your ugly wife and accused your father of murder. But I understand! It's hard to say no when Trump takes you by the p ****!
Earlier in the day, Carrey released an illustration showing support for Texas Senate Democratic candidate Beto O'Rourke. The political caricature showed O'Rourke pulling the curtain back on Cruz, painted like a vampire, which turned to dust when the sun hit his skin.
"Go bet! Come on, Democrats! Vote as there was no tomorrow. Let's make Tuesday the end of every big movie about vampires, "wrote Carrey on Twitter. "Pull the curtains and let the sun turn all those bloods into dust."
Cruz responded by saying that the vampires are dead.
"The Hollywood liberals are launching for Beto. But Jim Carrey (self-proclaimed socialist) made a mistake here: the vampires are dead and everyone knows the Democratic vote, said the senator.
Since the election of President Donald Trump in 2016, Carrey has regularly tweeted his political cartoons, which support the Democratic Party. Last week, the actor criticized Republicans for investing in Trump's "economy of lies".
"They say they will treat you while trying to destroy it. They invent lies about refugees while KIDNAPPING ENNOCENT INNOCENT! Vote democrat. Help save the future. DO NOT FOLLOW THE RED HAT IN HELL! He writes Tuesday.
O 'Rourke did not respond to Carrey's drawing. Instead, he used Twitter to promote his campaign. "We can be defined by our fears – who and what they want to scare us – or our ambitions. At this moment of littleness and paranoia, Texas will pave the way, "he wrote Monday about the victory over Cruz.
Texas is known to be a red state, but O'Rourke is hopeful.
"If nothing else, it reflects the truth we all know – that it's going to be very, very close," O'Rourke told local reporters Monday. "[It’s] to each of us to do everything in our power to ensure we win this victory and I will do everything on my side. I know our team is too.
