Jim Carrey playing Robotnik in Sonic the Hedgehog
Deadline reports that the film Sonic the Hedgehog found his villain with the addition of comedian Jim Carrey who will play Robotnik in the film. Carrey joins a cast for hybrid animation that includes Tika Sumpter of Ride Along and James Marsden of Westworld
Also known as Dr. Eggman, Robotnik was the main antagonist of the Sonic franchise for decades, making his first appearance in the first game of the series.
Sonic the Hedgehog will inspire popular games, focusing on Sonic's attempts to confront the evil Dr. Robotnik who is seeking to assemble the Chaos emeralds.
