Movie star Jim Carrey has revealed why he no longer agrees to make selfies with his fans.

The man from Ace Ventura stated that he far preferred to have a discussion with someone because the selfies "stop life".

Some celebrities refuse to be photographed with fans without payment, but for Jim, it's about not trying to please others and live in the moment.

Addressing the Hollywood Reporter, the 57-year-old said: "I abandoned everything to try to become something for someone a long time ago.

"I do not think it's urgent to please everyone.

"I'm not naughty with people, but I would rather say hello to who you are and what do you do today to give a selfie, because selfies stop life.

"You go [contorts his face]& # 39; eeehh & # 39; And then, on Instagram, we give people a false sense of relevance.

"Everyone was so gaga about Steve Jobs, but I imagine him running away from demons who want a selfie."

Jim is not short of fans, he has played in many classic movies throughout his career.

The Mask, Dumb and Dumber, and the Truman Show are just a few of his films. He is scheduled for the role of Dr. Robotnik in the movie Sonic the Hedgehog.
