Donald Trump and Jimmy Fallon discuss this topic on Twitter, following the revelations of the late late night host on a pre-election interview of 2016.

Fallon revealed to The Hollywood Reporter that he would have done the interview differently, after receiving tremendous criticism for giving the current president a softball interview, which included a little where the host had disheveled Trump.

Angry at the border policies of his administration and threats to his trading partners, Trump tweeted his displeasure at Sunday's Fallon regret, telling the TV host to be "a man".

Shortly after Trump's tweet, Fallon said on Twitter that he would donate to RAICES, a Texas-based educational and legal service for refugees and immigrants.

The donation will be made under the name of the president, in "honor" of the tweet.

After the debacle of the hair, Fallon's notes took a fall. The show has fallen behind the newcomer (and a much more political commitment) Stephen Colbert.

Fallon was reprimanded for "humanizing" Trump at the height of the 2016 presidential campaign.

"I did not do it to" normalize "him or to say that I believe in his political beliefs or anything like that," Fallon told the publication.

Fallon said that the intense criticism that followed Trump 's election had been disheartening for him and for the 300 staff members of the show, especially as comedians of 39, other shows joined the attack.

"Everything is in the pleasure of the show, I made a mistake, I'm sorry if I made someone crazy and, looking back, I would do it differently," he added.
