Joe Mixon has knee surgery and should miss 2 to 4 weeks

Cincinnati Bengals midfielder Joe Mixon underwent arthroscopic knee surgery on Saturday, and his return is about two to four weeks, a source told Ian Rapoport.

The lawsuit came two days after Mixon suffered a knee injury in the Thursday night win over the Baltimore Ravens. Mixon missed part of the second half before finishing with 84 yards in 21 races.

Tom Pelissero and Mike Garafolo of NFL Network first reported Friday that Mixon would need surgery.

After the surgery, it is possible that the second goal of the second year will be missed next week's game against the Carolina Panthers before returning for the match of week 4 against the Falcons of Atlanta, Rapoport said .

Giovani Bernard, who is in his sixth season, should see the majority of shots go forward, but the attack will lack at Mixon's big-game ability during his recovery.

The Bengals were 7-2 when Mixon received over 15 hits during his 2017 rookie campaign. In two games this season, he had 22 offensive hits in each of the team's games and took advantage extra work. Mixon averaged 19 runs per game for 89.5 yards and 4.7 yards per run in the first two games, compared to 12.7 carries for 44.7 yards and 3.5 yards per run last year.
