Embiid finished the match with 23 points, including two free throws in the final seconds to lead the Sixers to victory despite a swollen hand. Embiid also scored seven points in the 2:52 final of Friday's game and was a perfect 4 out of 4 in the free throw line.
Health has always been the only thing that prevented Embiid from coming back during his first NBA seasons. Embiid suffered foot and knee injuries that caused him time on the ground in his first two professional seasons, but the star player played 63 regular season games during the 2017-18 season.
Embiid is currently experiencing a career year for the Sixers. The former third overall pick is averaging 27.4 points, ahead of Stephen Curry and LeBron James. Embiid also picked up 13 rebounds per game, which is good for sixth place in the NBA. The Philadelphia center has also recorded a double-double in all but two games this season.
