MARTINSVILLE, Va. – Joey Logano signed his Homestead ticket against Martin Truex Jr. in the final corner on Sunday at Martinsville Speedway. Can he win the championship, however, if he runs to the edge of the clean against the dirty?
And on the other hand, can Truex win more championships so nice?
It is a bit difficult to discuss with Logano's gesture considering what was online, a place in the championship. He almost dropped his shoulder and knocked over the receiver before going to the plate for the winning race.
It was good? It was clean? No, but a little dirt can do a lot to win a championship.

It can also make you dump at a most inopportune moment, as Logano learned three years ago, right here in Martinsville, when Matt Kenseth fought back and seriously damaged his championship hopes.
But one could argue that it's always better to play the game and that a driver should take advantage of all the opportunities without fear of scare some competitors.
Truex seems to be the most ethical driver of all time or a person too kind sometimes for his good. Logano is on his way to Homestead and Truex, at least for now, is not.
"It has been a long time since I told Martin that he is too kind, but I would be so upset," said Dale Earnhardt Jr., a good friend of Truex, at the NBCSN show. "Joey now hopes that Martin will never have that chance to bring him back to Homestead.
"Joey hopes he's running to Homestead and that Truex is struggling."
Logano tried to silence the discussions about the relocating move.
"Every scenario is different," Logano said. "If I skipped it, I would feel very bad right now, that's another story … The fact that he finished in the top 3, we had a difficult race and we fought very well.
"He's working on me a few times trying to catch me, I understand, do not blame him."
Truex said that it would not have acted in this way, Logano.
"I could have done it last fall and I have not done it," Truex said. "I finished second behind Kyle [Busch]. "
But why not?
"Because I do not run like that," said Truex.
If Truex was running like that, if he had just dropped Logano or made more contact with him to take the lead, few people would have blinked.
"He certainly could have done that and nobody would have thought otherwise," he said. Denny Hamlin, who finished second.

"It depends on who does it," said Hamlin. "If it's your favorite driver, you like it.If you do not like it, it's dirty.I knew with two [laps] to go there, I would be very well placed to try to win this race because I knew that they were going to meet each other.
"I had more faith on the 22nd [of Logano] was going to hit the 78 [of Truex] that I did the 78 hit the 22. … When you have the choice to do it, you make those choices. "
It is obvious that Logano and Truex have different driver codes, and that can lead to great races and rivalry. Logano and his Team Penske teammate, Brad Keselowski, do not have a long list of friends in the garage.
They are among the nicest in the world, but their willingness to go even further with their bumpers has upset some competitors.
Good for them in the sense that no one should want to have happy competitors. If they can sleep at night with what they've done, the trophies do not indicate whether they have been earned clean or with a little nastiness.
"I owe it to my competition team to do everything in my power to win a race and ourselves to have another chance to win a title, that's my job," Logano said. "It's not a decision for which I sent him on the race track under him.
"We hit and hit the line, that's what I wanted to do to get a win."
Truex says that he would not have been able to sleep if he had acted that way. He does not have a trophy. He said that he should have been in Victory Lane, but that was Logano who was there. Logano did nothing against the rules. At least the written rules.
Moments after the race, Truex vowed that Logano would not win the championship and that he would recover Logano if the situation arose again. This will probably happen, but it may not be until next year, unless they are 1-2 at Homestead.
Logano said that Truex's willingness to handle this depended on him and that he would not let any problem of retaliation affect his goal. He did say that he had learned of the situation at Kenseth to try to have conversations in the hope that things would not get too much out of hand.
"Of course, we'll talk about it one day," Logano said. "When? Give me a minute … It's probably smart that we all probably started by calming ourselves down. In general, this decision is very different. We did not break down.
"We have seen this movement [I made] how many times? That's what this race track is built on. I would expect the same thing if the roles were reversed. "
The bottom line is what happens if a driver feels a little less proud of a win if the driver still has the trophy? Logano was certainly proud of it, even though others say that he should not be it.
"Every driver will have his own opinion and everyone in this room [of media] will have their own opinion, "said Logano. It's OK. It's up to you to decide what you want. The facts are that it is over now and that it is time to go ahead. "
The race may be over. But in the race, the finishes are rarely like this: everyone is moving forward. Drivers have memories. They can have grudges. They can decide who will win the trophies and who will receive the big checks.
