There will be EGOTs.

John Legend, Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice all entered the rare and rather random group of animators who won an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony award on Sunday night.

Their triumph came when NBC's "Jesus Christ Superstar Live In Concert" won five awards at Creative Arts Emmys, including the best live variety show.

With their victories, the three men join 12 other EGOT winners including Audrey Hepburn, Whoopi Goldberg and Mel Brooks.

The awards were distributed in nearly 100 categories at the Creative Arts Emmy Awards at two ceremonies Saturday and Sunday in Los Angeles, which culminated in the 70th edition of the Primetime Emmy Awards.

As usual, "Game of Thrones", with another lasting Emmy heavyweight, "Saturday Night Live", has taken the lead so far. Emmy is leading the telecast of primetime next week.

The Creative Emmys represent a kind of avant-garde show of Emmys, with awards being awarded for categories such as technical categories, appearances as acting guests and variety specials .

And while Hollywood prize programs have been besieged in recent years with accusations of racial prejudice, including #OscarsSoWhite, the Emmys marked a turning point in diversity this weekend.

The four categories of actors invited during the weekend were awarded to African-American actors.

Tiffany Haddish won the Best Actress Guest Award in a comedy for her hosting feature on Saturday Night Live, the third year in a row that NBC's late-night show won the award. Katt Williams, who played the role of an eccentric owner of an alligator in a critically acclaimed Atlanta episode, won the award for best guest actor in a comedy. Ron Cephas Jones won the Best Guest Award for his role in "This Is Us" and Samira Wiley won the guest actress title for "The Handmaid's Tale".

Creative Emmys also provide a boost to network bragging rights. HBO is currently leading with 17 Emmy wins, followed closely by Netflix 16. In July, when the Emmy the nominations have been announced, Netflix has broken the series of 17 nominations by HBO of most Emmy nominations on a television channel. But if HBO can win it at the main ceremony next Monday, it will extend its goal of winning the most Emmys among all the TV channels for 17 consecutive years, a feat that will help mitigate the blow of this summer.
