NEW YORK – The live version of NBC's "Jesus Christ Superstar "won an Emmy Award and it made three men happier – that means star John Legend, composer Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyricist Tim Rice joined the elite EGOT winners.

The musical's triumph for Sunday's best special show means that legend Lloyd Webber and Rice have Emmys to accompany their Tonys, Grammys and Oscars – the four biggest awards in show business.

Writing partners Lloyd Webber and Rice have already won Tonys ("Evita" and "Sunset Boulevard"), Grammys ("Cats", "Evita") and an Oscar for "You Must Love Me" from "Evita" . 10 Grammys and in 2015 he won an Oscar for his song "Glory" from the movie "Selma". Last year, he won a Tony for the best rework of a play as a co-producer of "Jitney". In the concert version of "Jesus Christ Superstar", he won his Emmy as co-producer of the series and he is also looking for an interim Emmy later this month.

Two other songwriters were also released from EGOT Sunday: Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, whose song "In the Market for a Miracle" appeared in "A Christmas Story Live!" They won an Oscar for "La La Land" and a Tony and a Grammy for "Dear Evan Hansen". But their bid for EGOT status was derailed when Emmy, for her music and her exceptional original lyrics, went to "Saturday Night Live" and their song "Come Back Barack", at the time of Home of Chance the Rapper.

Legend trio Lloyd Webber and Rice – officially the 13th, 14th and 15th members of the EGOT – join an elite group of Robert Lopez, Audrey Hepburn, Mel Brooks, Rita Moreno, Mike Nichols and Whoopi Goldberg. (Lopez, the composer "The Book of Mormon" and "Frozen", who was 38 years old when he earned the EGOT status, is still the youngest to win all four awards – the legend is 39.)
