A few months after the announcement of the appointment of director Jon Favreau to a new series of live movies "Star Wars", we now have a title. The series will call "The Mandalorian", he revealed Wednesday on his Instagram.

"After the stories of Jango and Boba Fett, another warrior appears in the Star Wars universe," wrote Favreau. "The Mandalorian is located after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. We follow the difficulties of a sniper in the far reaches of the galaxy, far from the authority of the New Republic … "

We assume that this means that the series will take place sometime between the events "The Return of the Jedi" and "The Awakening of the Force" – a considerable period of time.

Mandalorians are a race of warriors from the planet Mandalore. The most famous Star Wars Mandalorians are Boba Fett, introduced in the original trilogy, and his father, Jango Fett, featured in the prequel trilogy. It should be noted, however, that Jango Fett was not born in Mandalore, but was adopted by the Mandalorians. That's why he and his son sport their characteristic armor.

The Mandalorians have appeared in the animated series "Star Wars" "Clone Wars" and "Rebels", as well as in the video game "Knights of the Old Republic".

Favreau is known for making films such as "Iron Man" in 2008 and "The Jungle Book" (2016) and for producing live scenes.

"The Mandalorian" will appear on Disney's streaming service, but no date has been announced.
