Akins and fellow Jordan Thomas will replace Ryan Griffin (illness, absent) Thursday against the Dolphins, reports Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle.
The tight rookie duo also replaced Griffin last week and had a combined goal. Houston coaches have talked about further involving the tight end position, but that never materializes. Akins has 11 goals in seven games, and we expect a similar rate of attention on Thursday. With Deshaun Watson injured in the chest and facing the 29th defense against the race, the Houston game plan will be to place the ball in the hands of the half-offensive Lamar Miller.
