HOUSTON – After a long series of crimes including multiple murders, aggravated robbery, attempted murder and home invasion in the Cypress area, a man believed to be linked to the crimes was captured and charged.

Representatives from the Harris County Sheriff's Office sued Jose Gilberto Rodriguez, 46, in the Cypress area before the end of the hunt on North Eldridge Parkway and Wortham Landing Drive, officials said.

Rodriguez was arrested. He was charged with two counts of murder for the death of Pamela Johnson, who was found dead in her Cypress home, and an employee of Mattress One in North Houston, officials said.

The third murder charge for the death of a Mattress Firm employee in northwestern Harris County, is pending until Wednesday, according to authorities.

Nobody was injured when Rodriguez was arrested.

A Channel 2 photographer witnessed the incident. Cesar Martinez was shooting a video in front of a house on Foxburo Drive, where a Rodriguez home invasion is believed to have occurred. Martinez said that he saw a person matching the description of Rodriguez driving slowly in a gray vehicle.

"This Nissan comes rolling and this guy looks me right in the eye and I say to myself," He looks like this guy. "So I started filming him (video of)," Martinez said. "I did not see a guy who was nervous, a guy who was being chased, he was just driving around the neighborhood."

Martinez said that once the deputies started running after Rodriguez, he stopped briefly before he ran away.

"They pass stop signs, they pass lights, they accelerate on secondary roads, entering and leaving the neighborhood," Martinez said.

The Harris County Sheriff's Office said that he had prospected the area after a resident reported a suspicious person in the neighborhood, when they spotted Rodriguez's vehicle.

A Mattress Firm employee was found dead at the back of a northwestern Houston store on Saturday. Police said Allie Barrow, 28, was shot in the head. A manager discovered his body in The Commons Shopping Center at 7592 West FM 1960, near Tomball Parkway.

Rodriguez is considered a person of interest in his death.

July 16

Another deadly shootout occurred Monday afternoon at a Houston Houston Mattress One. Edward Magana, a Northline Commons employee at I-45 North Freeway and East Crosstimbers Street, was declared dead at the scene. Authorities said Rodriguez is a person of interest in filming. Magana was killed Monday shortly after her lunch break.

The three victims were killed in the same way, according to the police.

Authorities said earlier Monday that a METRO driver had been robbed and shot dead near a gas station on the Eastex highway. The driver was shot in the chest and was transported to the hospital. His condition was unknown. Rodriguez is considered a person of interest in the incident.
