Josh Gordon Begins Against Bills After Being Informed That He Would Be Disciplined For His Delay | Bleacher's report

New England Patriots receiver Josh Gordon started Monday's game against the Buffalo Bills after previous reports suggested the opposite.

Earlier Monday, Ian Rapoport NFL Network reported that Gordon would be held "about a quarter" because of his delay. The discipline was to last several rounds before he was allowed to play for the rest of the match. Instead, Gordon caught four passes for 42 yards on six targets in the Patriots 25-6 win.

"You must speak to whoever wrote this," Patriots coach Bill Belichick told reporters. "I have no idea."

Gordon is probably still on a very short leash given his history.

The former Cleveland Browns star has been suspended several times by the NFL and has missed nearly three full seasons due to violations of the League's drug policy. While he was supposed to finish a full season in 2018 with the Browns, the team dropped him in September, while he reportedly was late and that he was not there. The team's doctors had apparently thought that he was "about to relapse".

After the Browns threatened to release him, he was traded to the Patriots and had a positive impact.
