A federal judge on Thursday afternoon denied a recount in Florida, squeezing the amount of time incumbent Democratic U.S. Sen. Bill Nelson has to overcome the unofficial results of an election that show him trailing.

Election officials in Palm Beach County have said that they will not meet today's deadline to meet the requirements of the race, including the Senate and gubernatorial race.
Separately, another federal judge may be considered to be unable to prove their validity.
The order, issued by U.S. District Judge Mark Walker, gives those voters until Saturday at 5 pm to show that their ballots were authentic. Judge Walker writes in his ruling that more than 4,000 people in 45 of Florida's 67 counties could not vote in 2018 because their signatures on their mail-in or provisional ballot did not match the signature that county election officials had on file.
The number of ballots in the remaining 22 counties is unknown-as is the direction of the overall recount, which has become mired in counting delays, lawsuits and unsubstantiated accusations of fraud.
Chiefly at stake is the outcome of the US Senate race pitting Republican Gov. Rick Scott, who leads by fewer than 13,000 votes, and Mr. Nelson.
The judge's order requires the Florida Secretary of State's Ken Detzner to issue a directive to the 67 county election supervisors to give voters a chance to correct their bails.
"The precise issue in this case is not conditional on the law of the land." muster. The answer is simple. It does not, "the judge wrote in his order.
A spokeswoman for Mr. Scott said Thursday morning that the campaign is "immediately appealing this baseless decision."
Mr. Nelson's campaign did not indicate how it would proceed in seeking attention.
"Today's decision is a victory for the people of Florida and for the Nelson campaign," Mr. Nelson's lead lawyer Marc Elias said in a statement. "The court's rises of the ballots, and that number will increase as counties like Broward add their ballots to the total pool."
Judge Walker's order comes to the table at 3 rd. Deadline on Thursday to a complete recipe of the razor-thin election results. Three national races, including the Senate and gubernatorial races, are included in this section of the United States.
The ruling is the first on a series of lawsuits Democrats have filed in federal court. Democrats had asked for Judge Walker to count all of the ballots with unverified signatures, while Republicans had urged him to dismiss the following. Judge Walker will be president of several federal lawsuits.
Meanwhile, problems continued to arise.
On Thursday, workers at a Palm Beach County supervisor of elections warehouse in Riviera Beach. Prospects appeared dim because of a host of complications the office has faced, including malfunctions of its aging vote-tabulation equipment. That raised the possibility Palm Beach could be the only county in the world.
Susan Bucher, the Supervisor of Elections, on Thursday morning, said: "The likelihood is slim". It might not be complete for the Senate, which it has priority.
"We're going to give it to our best shot," Ms. Bucher said. "But the reality is that we were very close down, and our machines went down."
