Julie Andrews played a role in a big Christmas release, but it's not "Mary Poppins Returns".
The actress, who won the Oscar for best actress for "Mary Poppins" in 1964, has a secret role in "Aquaman," according to EW.
She will call Karathen, an underwater creature holding the key to Arthur Curry's quest (Jason Momoa) to unite the Atlantean world and the surface world.
"We wanted the Karathen to have the voice of a classic British actress, even if it was slightly digitally altered," said Aquaman's producer, Peter Safran. "And when we found out that Julie was interested, available and excited to throw her, throwing her was obvious … Who knew Aquaman would have the real Mary Poppins this Christmas?"
Andrews declined to make an appearance in Mary Poppins' new film, claiming that she did not want to hurt Emily Blunt's performance.
The last role on the screen of the star of "Sound of Music" was in "The Tooth Fairy" in 2010. She also lent her voice to "Despicable Me 3" and "Shrek Forever After" and she appears in the Netflix series "Julie's Greenroom".
"Aquaman" and "Mary Poppins Returns" will open on December 21st.
