Julie Chen will continue her role as host of Big Brother.
While she is supporting her husband, former CBS CEO, Leslie "Les" Moonves, as part of his sexual misconduct scandal, Chen, who has been running the reality TV contest since 18, will continue his duties in the series.
"She will continue to work on Big Brother and looks forward to hosting the show in the years to come, "a 48-year-old source told Chen told PEOPLE.
On Tuesday, Chen tackled his departure from the popular daytime talk show The speech in a message recorded on video for viewers.
"Right now, I have to spend more time at home with my husband and our young son," she said. "So I decided to leave The speech. "
"I know this show and the fraternity it represents will last for many more years," she concluded.
After the video finished playing, co-host Sheryl Underwood was seen crying as Sara Gilbert said goodbye to Chen on behalf of the women.
"For eight seasons, Julie Chen has co-organized The speech with incredible energy, grace and professionalism, "said CBS in a statement. "His talents have been instrumental in successfully launching CBS 'first network talk show and growing the series into an Emmy Award-winning program. Chen's departure The speech comes just over a week after CBS announced that Moonves was no longer the president and CEO of the network following multiple allegations of sexual misconduct.
Shortly after his departure, fans began to question Chen's future on Big Brother.
