Justin Bieber agrees to settle a long-time suit with his former neighbor whom he has home

Justin Bieber has agreed to settle a long-standing dispute brought by a former neighbor where the pop singer took up residence.

A document filed Friday shows that the case has been resolved in its entirety. No details were given on the terms.

Jeffrey and Suzanne Schwartz filed a lawsuit in early 2015, alleging that they had suffered emotional harm because of Bieber's flogging and other actions when he lived next door.

The 24-year-old pop singer has already served a sentence of criminal imprisonment after the 2013 incident and paid $ 80,000 in compensation for the damage he caused.

The lawsuit alleged that Bieber spat in Jeffrey Schwartz's face and terrorized the family with noisy parties, drug use and aggressive driving while living in a gated community in the famous enclave of Calabasas. He claimed more than $ 25,000 in damages for assault, assault and battery, intrusion and infliction of claims for emotional distress.

Bieber's lawyers argued that the restitution he had already paid and the sentence he had been given were sufficient and that he should not, justifiably, do more for emotional harm.

Messages left to lawyers on both sides were not immediately returned.

At a hearing that was held in August, Judge Elaine W. Mandel, who had resumed the case after three years, expressed skepticism at the plaintiffs' claims. She interviewed Schwartz's lawyer, Brian J. Kim, to explain the damages caused by Bieber to the plaintiffs, calling them "minimal".

Nor did she appear inclined to admit much of the evidence that the complainants wished to present at the trial, including dozens of media reports of Bieber's misconduct.
