Just after the news that Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin were linked, a new report indicates that the singer "Love Yourself" is working to become a US citizen.
Bieber, who was born and raised in Ontario, Canada, has applied for dual citizenship, according to TMZ, citing several sources.
The 24-year-old star has lived in the United States since the age of 13, when he moved with his family to Atlanta. According to TMZ, he currently divides his time between Los Angeles, New York and Ontario, where he has a heritage of $ 5 million.
To obtain citizenship, the US government requires the applicant to have a permanent resident card (green) for at least five years. One must be at least 18 years old, be able to "read, write and speak basic English" and be "a person of good character," says USA.gov.
