LOS ANGELES (Reuters) – Justin Bieber celebrated his first Thanksgiving as a married man, saying "love is not always easy," but added that he was trying, like Jesus Christ, to be more patient and altruistic.

The 24-year-old Canadian pop singer, who married model Hailey Baldwin in a secret civil ceremony in September, told her 102 million Instagram followers that Thursday's American Thanksgiving Day was the first time that he had animated.

"First thanksgiving as a married man, first organization of a Thanksgiving," wrote Bieber in a commentary released on Friday.

"Relationships are difficult and love is not always easy, but thank you Jesus for showing me how! Every day is a learning process, trying to be more like him, patient, kind, selfless, boy, I have come a long way! But the grace of the gods is sufficient!

Bieber and Baldwin both attend the Hillsong Evangelical Church, which was founded in Australia in 1983 and now has branch offices around the world, followed by a great deal of youth.

Bieber, who found the celebrity as a 15-year-old baby-faced girl, and Baldwin unofficially confirmed their marriage in comments on social media last week when the singer of "Sorry" called Baldwin "my wife ". Bieber.

Thursday was also the 22nd birthday of Hailey Bieber, whom Bieber's mother, Patti Mallette, was marking with an Instagram story showing her son singing "Happy Birthday" and offering his wife a cake.

"I'm SO #THANKFUL to have you as a girl !!!", Mallette added on Twitter.
