Justin Timberlake was forced to postpone his show in New York Wednesday night due to vocal cords "severely bruised."
The singer of "Say Something", who is currently on the road during his Man of the Woods tour, announced the news on Instagram just hours before the Madison Square Garden show, revealing that his doctors had ordered him to rest .
"Hey guys, I'm sorry to announce that I have to postpone the issuance of MSG tonight on the order of a doctor," he wrote. "My vocal cords are badly bruised. I'm going to do that to myself and the new series will take place on January 31, the day of my birthday. More information to come. Again, I'm really sorry to do it, but happy to see you again soon. The pop star, 37, has a few days to relax before returning to the stage on October 28 in Buffalo, NY.
Throughout the electric show – produced by the Fireplay design and design studio – Timberlake performs songs from his classics ("Cry Me a River" (with Smoky River), "SexyBack", "Suit & Tie") and his 2016 song of the summer "Can not Stop the Feeling!", as well as tracks from his latest album, Man of the woods.
Timberlake postponed the N.Y.C. January 31, 2019, his 38th birthday, which now marks the end date of the trip.
