DC Universe has assembled a starry voice for his next album Harley Quinn animated series.
The Big Bang Theory Star Kaley Cuoco will take the lead in the 26-episode animated series to be released in 2019. Cuoco, currently producing the 12th and final season of CBS The Big Bang Theory, will also be executive producer of the animated comedy via its banner Yes, Norman Productions, based in Warner Bros. Cuoco made the announcement on Wednesday as part of the world premiere screening of DC Universe Titans in New York Comic Con.
The series, described as an animated action comedy for adults, follows Harley as she breaks with the Joker and tries to make her herself as a "pioneer" of Gotham City. The comedy will also feature Poison Ivy and a cast of heroes and villains – old and new – from the DC Universe.
The font also includes Lake Bell (Wet american hot summer), Alan Tudyk (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story), Ron Funches (Powerless), JB Smoove (Calm your enthusiasm), Jason Alexander (Seinfeld), Wanda Sykes (Blackish), Giancarlo Esposito (Breaking Bad)Natalie Morales (Bojack Cavalier), Jim Rash (Community), Diedrich Bader (Veep), Tony Hale (Veep) and Chris Meloni (Law & Order: Special Victims Unit). The details of the character (s) that the rest of the cast will hear were not immediately available.
Harley Quinn was recently played by Margot Robbie in Warner Bros.'s feature film. Suicide team. Robbie was invited to express the character of the DC Universe series and could not participate.
Powerless The trio Justin Halpern, Patrick Schumacker and Dean Lorey are at the origin of the series, based on characters from the DC Comics universe. NBC Powerless was DC's first series of live scripted comedies. With the Harley Quinn casting, Halpern, Schumacker and Lorey reunited with Powerless Tudyk and Funches stars.
DC Universe was launched on September 15th. The subscription service offers a combination of scripted originals as well as access to DC-themed television, movies and comics. A first date for Harley Quinn has not yet been determined.
