KANSAS CITY, Missouri – The quarterback career of Kansas City Chiefs Patrick Mahomes has lasted just eight games, at least in touchdown passes.

Mahomes made four assists in Sunday's 45-10 win over the Cincinnati Bengals at Arrowhead Stadium. That gives him 22 touchdowns in the first eight games of his career, beating Kurt Warner's NFL record of 21.

"You think you're going to be successful, but I did not expect that much," says Mahomes. "But at the same time, I knew the weapons we had, and I knew that if I was just running [the offense] and what coach did [Andy] Reid wanted me to do that, there was a chance we could be really, really good. & # 39; & # 39;

Mahomes is getting close to a Chiefs' record season for the touchdowns. Len Dawson made 30 touchdowns in 1964 and Mahomes has nine games to play.

"We have a lot of season left, we will try to get two more and continue doing what we do," said Reid.

Mahomes has thrown four touchdowns this season in games against the Chargers and Patriots. He had six scoring shots in a game against the Steelers.

Mahomes, the Chiefs' first round pick in 2017, said he had never had as much fun playing football as last season.

"Being able to learn every day from coach Reid, being able to hang out with all these guys … we literally have fun every day," he said. "We love coming to work, I guess, and I just played that game we love since we were little and have won a lot of football games."

Mahomes threw three touchdown passes in the first half as the Chiefs built a 24-7 lead. He scored throws of 6 and 15 yards at Kareem Hunt and 17 meters to Demetrius Harris.

The 22nd Mahomes touchdown of the season took place in the fourth quarter. Tyreek Hill caught the throw of 3 yards.

Mahomes has not managed a touchdown pass in two of his eight career games: last season against the Broncos and this season against the Jaguars.
