The Big 12 announced Thursday the results of its preseason poll on football – as voted by 52 representatives of the media. The Kansas football team has found itself far from the top, finishing last in the vote for the eighth consecutive season.

Oklahoma was a decisive first in the poll, collecting 509 points out of a possible 520. The Sooners received 46 out of 52 first place, with second place West Virginia (first two spots, 432 points), third place place TCU (a first-place vote, 390 points), fourth place in Texas (a first-place vote, 370 points) and sixth place Kansas State (two first-place votes, 283 points) completing those who get the first place votes.

As for the rest of the list: Oklahoma State came in fifth with 300 points. The Iowa State is ranked seventh with 250 points: Texas Tech is ranked eighth with 149 points. And Baylor came in ninth place with 125 points.

This of course means that the Jayhawks were ranked 10th on the list.

KU received only 52 votes, meaning that the Jayhawks were a unanimous choice for the last time in the league. This is not entirely surprising since KU failed to win a Big 12 team last season and was really close to doing it all at once – against K- State. However, it should be noted that the Jayhawks should be improved this season with more than a team of veterans.

David Beaty begins his fourth season at the helm of the KU program, while the players love the linebacker ] Joe Dineen all-round lineman Daniel Wise and wide receiver Steven Sims will all enter their senior seasons. This trio will also be surrounded by talented turners of Khalil Herbert Mike Lee and Hasan Defense in addition to some talented newcomers in players like Corione Harris Anthony "Pookah" Williams and Najee Stevens-McKenzie .

The Jayhawks will take first place next season on September 1, playing in their opening match at the newly renamed David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium against FCS Nicholls State School. This game, which will start at 18 hours. CT

KU will then take the road to face Central Michigan before returning home to face Rutgers on September 15th. The Jayhawks will start the Big 12 against a Baylor team chosen to finish ninth at the conference of

The Jayhawks will also play Texas Tech (eighth) on the road, although the team will play a home game against Iowa State, which was chosen in seventh position.

Once again, here is a complete list of media selections for the Big 12 2018 football season. Oklahoma was chosen first for the third consecutive season, while Baylor received its lowest ranking since the separation of the conference from the North / South format.
