Kanye West fans might consider going to school in Chicago after the Abandoned college tweeted Monday that he will teach at the Chicago Art Institute School and the American Academy of Art.
But according to two statements sent to FADERNone of the institutions anticipates that Mr. West will become Professor West. At least not soon.
"We are flattered that Mr. West is interested in teaching emerging artists and designers at the Chicago School of the Art Institute; however, Mr. West does not currently teach SAIC, and at this point, he is not expected to do so, "said the Art Institute of Chicago. FADER.
The American Academy of Art sent the magazine a similar answer. "People from the American Academy of Art have stated that there was no current plan for Kanye to speak or teach at the institution," wrote a representative of the school. "This does not mean that they would not talk to him about this idea, but no discussion on the subject (or none) has occurred recently."
In 2015, Ye received an honorary doctorate from SAIC. "West is a thinker and a creator who often uses his work – his lyrics, videos, performances, drawings and paintings – to deconstruct stereotypes and stimulate cultural discourse on important social issues," the college told Complex.
Both institutions seem quite prepared to consider letting West teach a course on their campus, but there is no concrete plan to do so in the near future. Maybe Ye is simply taking his own advice and manifesting what he wants by tweeting him.
