The Detroit Free Press and the Detroit News, along with some other metropolitan newspapers, were summoned Friday by commercials for the all-new Kanye West fashion shoe.

This is only the second time that Free Press offers the entire print edition to an advertiser. The press organization has printed additional copies of Friday's newspaper in anticipation of keen interest from sneaker enthusiasts.

Advertisements for Yeezy sneakers include four full pages, including an artistic cover image with the phrase "We Love" written in 11 languages. Below the handwriting is a photo of four young people wearing a white Yeezys and kissing in a circle.

The inside pages of the ads have the word "love" repeated in multiple languages ​​and interspersed with photos of people wearing Yeezy entwined in various poses.

Yeezy sneakers are a popular brand collaboration between West and the Adidas sportswear company.

While the newspaper ads do not mention a particular model of Yeezy, they coincide with Friday's planned release of $ 220. "Triple White" Yeezy Boost 350 V2, which has been touted as the first Yeezy shoe to be sold in large quantities.

Yeezys has traditionally been produced in limited quantities, which has led frustrated consumers to pay well above the retail price in sneaker resale outlets and markets such as Detroit-based StockX.

Yeezy's ads were to be broadcast in a handful of major metropolitan newspapers across the country.

The Havas Chicago marketing agency, which produced the ad campaign, did not return a comment. Representatives of Adidas and West Yeezy Supply could not be reached on Thursday.

"The good thing is that they use the logs to create the buzz," said Charlie Hunt, regional account manager for Michigan.com, the commercial arm of the media partnership that includes Free Press and Detroit News.

Yeezy's press campaign follows a collaboration last month between the Supreme clothing brand and the New York Post. The August 13 edition of the tabloid featured a front-page ad from Supreme and was quickly sold as fans of the brand swarmed.

Copies of this newspaper are now selling on Ebay between $ 5 and $ 20.

The Free Press recently released full coverage in June 2016 for the Chevrolet Silverado.

The cost of such an ad placement could cost more than $ 100,000.

"I think there's more mystery in this one," Hunt said about Yeezy's commercials. "It will get people to stop to look and think."
