The meeting between artist and entrepreneur Kanye West and President Trump on Thursday left Stephanie Ruhle and Ali Velshi, so amazed by MSNBC, that they called it an "assault on our White House".

The man behind "I can not tell you anything" had a lot to say about the Oval Office this week, but his presence next to the Commander-in-Chief left experts astonished. The "MSNBC Live" duo withdrew from their personal political discussion about 48 hours after CNN panelist Tara Setmayer called West "symbolic black".

"It was crazy," Velshi said after West discussed his optimistic politics, his hat "MAGA", prison reform, gun rights and his "love" for the flawless virility of the president.

"If you think you'll get a thorough analysis of post-game play and political analysis, you're not because it was an assault on our White House," said Ruhle.

"You can not even analyze some of the things that have been said. … it was crazy. It was rubbish, "said Mr. Velshi.

West told reporters that Trump was embarking on a "hero's journey" to keep America thriving and become an ally for the entertainment industry.

He added that Mr. Trump exuded a kind of "masculine energy" that he had not experienced growing up.

"My father and my mother separated, so there was not a lot of masculine energy in my house and I'm married to a family where, you know, there's not a lot of masculine energy," was -he declares. "It's beautiful anyway. … Liberals will try to control a black person through concept or racism because they know we are very proud and emotional people. So when I say that I love Trump to somebody from the Liberal, they will say, "Oh, but he is racist".
