Before going on stage at the Huntington Center in Toledo, Ohio, on Thursday night, Keith Urban made a surprise visit to the hospital bedside of a dedicated fan.
The 50-year-old country music superstar has visited Mercy Health St. Vincent Hospital, where the superfan Marissa English is currently in palliative care.
The health of English is deteriorating rapidly, reported WTOL-11. The 25-year-old has "a myriad of health problems, including water and an inoperable cyst of her brain, severe scoliosis and cerebral palsy."
But that did not stop her from falling in love with Urban and her music.
"She has memories of two other concerts we attended. She has a t-shirt that we put on a pillow that's all the time next to her, "said Marlise Matthews, the mother of English, at WTOL-11. "In fact, it's cute because it's going to take the pillow, hug it and embrace it." [and] … She will point to it and say "Mr. Hottie.
When it was clear that English could not get to the Urban show on Thursday despite the tickets, his nurses launched a social media campaign to show him around.
"We knew how important it was for Marissa to attend this concert," Nurse Jan Cassity told WTOL-11, adding that the health of English is rapidly diminishing. "As she was not able to do that, we were hoping to find a way to get Keith to connect with her."
"She is so fascinated by Keith and likes to watch him on TV and listen to his music," said Jackie Codding, English Home Nurse at WTOL-11. "I think that would mean the world for her."
Urban understood the message and he was there before his big performance.
A video from inside the hospital room shows Urban, kneeling close to English, singing his 2016 title titled "Blue Is Not Your Color" on a karaoke track for iPhone while holding her hand. "I would play this song right now if I had my guitar with me now," he tells him.
English smiled all the way through the song in English and said those words.
The two also posed for photos together.

Later, in front of a sold-out crowd at the Huntington Center, Urban spoke about his meeting with "a beautiful girl named Marissa … who, I really think, is my biggest fan," reported WTOL-11.
"Her family is here, as are some of her pediatric intensive care nurses," said Urban, according to WTOL-11, gesturing. "We're going to dedicate all this show tonight to Marissa."
