Trevor Lawrence being appointed Starting quarterback Clemson for Saturday's game against Syracuse, Kelly Bryant was a training defeat this week.

Per Grace Raynor of Post and mailBryant missed the test on Monday and Tuesday after head coach Dabo Swinney made the change.

Raynor noted that Swinney had given Bryant leave on Monday "to treat the news and spend an afternoon to himself. "

According to Kevin McGuire of NBC Sports, Swinney noted after making the change that he intends to maintain Bryant's game plan in the Tigers.

Bryant, now in his final year, started each of Clemson's first four games in 2018. He started 461 yards, ran for 130 yards and scored four touchdowns.

By ESPN David HaleThe NCAA's four-game rule means that Bryant can not participate in another match for Clemson if he wants to move on to a program that will give him the opportunity to start.

Lawrence, who was the best player in the 2018 class by 247Sports, had 600 yards and nine touchdowns on just 60 attempts.

The Tigers are currently ranked # 3 in the Top 25 Associated Press with a 4-0 record. They finished last season 12-2 with Bryant as a starting quarterback, but lost to Alabama in the semifinal of the university football playoffs.
