Dixon, who was third in Baltimore, led the Ravens with 44 yards rushing and a touchdown in the Buffalo Bills' 47-3 win in the opening game of Sunday's season. He suffered a knee injury at the end of the game, which prolongs the trend. Three knee injuries put Dixon aside for more than 20 games in a three-year career.
The Ravens could bring Dixon back to mid-season when he is in good health at that time. Under the return rule, Dixon, a fourth-round pick in 2016, may return after spending at least eight weeks in IR.
Dixon's injury will not affect the top of the Ravens depth chart. Alex Collins and Buck Allen are the two best riders in Baltimore.
Turner, who was removed from the Alcorn State, rushed during the pre-season. He ran for 159 yards, averaging 7.2 yards per run.
The Ravens (1-0) will play the Cincinnati Bengals (1-0) on Thursday night.
