SAN FRANCISCO – Kevin Durant's Golden State Warriors recruitment took a new public step on Friday afternoon, as the organization offered the star striker a guided tour of the Chase Center.
Durant, who is scheduled to test the free agency this summer, visited the new Warriors facility with a group of sponsors and media. The Warriors will enter Chase next summer and start playing next season after 47 years at Oracle Arena.
While Durant was walking on the construction site, he could not help but think about what his future might be like – he decided to stay with the Warriors after this season.
"My imagination is unleashed at the moment with possibilities," he said at one point.
Several Warriors players have visited the construction site in recent months, but Durant was the first player to walk on the ground, where the playing area will be laid next year. On-site construction workers shouted his name around the building as he was moving around.
"I'm thinking of a lot of points," said Durant as he strolled. "The fans will love that."
When a reporter asked Durant if he would commit to staying with the Warriors when he was wondering where his new home would be, Durant smiled and dismissed the issue.
"What do we do?" Durant said, while Warriors staff members tried to advance the tour. "What do we do?"

Warriors officials said they were trying to set a date so that Durant could visit the new facility for months and be happy that his program would be aligned on Friday.
What began as a celebration of the partnership between the organization and a Silicon Valley technology company turned into an extra layer in Durant's recruitment process when the former MVP walked with a construction cap , shorts with high socks, protective boots and goggles. Stephen Collins, Chase Center construction manager, led the tour while Durant asked a few questions throughout the 40-minute tour.
Before leaving the site, Durant signed autographs and took pictures with construction workers and dignitaries. A member of the Warriors' staff made him sign his construction boots before Durant jumped into a waiting car.
Collins proudly took the boots off the site while the Warriors were hoping that Durant 's look would make the decision to stay in the Bay Area even easier next summer.
