Kevin Hart and his wife Eniko Parrish celebrated their son's first birthday this weekend, but the theme of Kenzo Hart's festivities does not suit those who see him as an appropriation of culture.

Parrish shared on Thursday photos of their sons' "Cowboys and Indians" birthday party on Instagram, with Native American blankets, cowboy hats and tipis.

"The evening between the Zos and the cowboys and the Indians was nothing special! Thank you all for coming … we love you guys," she subtitled a picture of guests dressed in Southwestern clothes.

However, social media users have criticized the comedian's family for his cultural insensitivity.

The @CMeisters user tweeted that "culture is not a costume", adding "shame on you @enikohart and @ KevinHart4real".

"By organizing a birthday party" Cowboys & Indians "on" Thanksgiving ", we celebrate genocide, white supremacy and slavery. are they @ KevinHart4real & @enikohart and teach your child? user @solomamihood added. "Would it be okay to organize a birthday party for Master and Slave? No."

@ latinanative666 called the theme "offensive" and "just rude."

The Hart have not yet responded to the controversy. USA TODAY solicited comments from the comedian.

Hart and Parrish welcomed Kenzo in November 2017, the first child of the couple together. Hart also has his son Hendrix, 11, and his daughter Heaven, 13, from his marriage to actress Torrei Hart.
