Khabib Nurmagomedov of UFC Targets Mayweather

In a video posted on Instagram by flamboyant boxer promoter Leonard Ellerbe, the Russian fighter challenged Mayweather – who himself locked McGregor in a one-off confrontation last August – to take him next.

"Come on Floyd, we have to fight now," said Nurmagomedov, smiling in the video. Ellerbe said he was shot during a fight in Russia.

"50-0 against 27-0, two guys who never lose, come on, why not, because in the jungle there is only one king, one king … of course, I'm the king. Because he can not give up … McGregor but I drop it easily, that's why, let's go. "

Mayweather fought 50 professional fights without defeat; the young Russian is 27-0.

Nurmagomedov's challenge did not make it clear what the discipline – MMA or boxing – would be if the two met.

Heated match

Nurmagomedov's highly anticipated fight against McGregor in front of the UFC was completed earlier in October with the most ugly scenes after the fight.

The 30-year-old Russian won the match with a fourth round victory via Submission. But Nurmagomedov made the headlines when he went over the octagon to attack someone in the crowd the day after his victory.

A Nurmagomedov camp apparently entered the cage to attack McGregor, a beaten man.

His Russian compatriot Zubaira Tukhugov – a featherweight fighter – was pulled out of the fight against Artem Lobov as a result of the fight that broke out after the clash between Khabib and McGregor.

The lightweight champion later stated that he had been aggravated by McGregor's remarks before the bout, with the Irishman – before his first match since his defeat against Mayweather last summer – commenting on the family, religion and nationality of Nurmagomedov.

Nurmagomedov also discussed an incident earlier this year when McGregor pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct after attacking a bus carrying UFC fighters to Brooklyn, injuring several athletes and resulting in the cancellation of two fights and the way it had been used to promote the fight.

He said that the UFC – considered the preeminent organization of mixed martial arts – would lose him as a fighter he was returning Tukhugov as a result of the incident.
