NEW YORK – Several cars were reported on fire in a parking lot in Brooklyn. CBS New York reports that smoke plumes have been observed coming from King's Plaza mall at Mill Basin.

The fire quickly turned into a six-alarm fire and the New York Fire Department said seven firefighters had been treated for injuries while the fire was raging. He says that no injuries have been considered life-threatening.

The FDNY has issued a warning to people suffering from heart or lung diseases, such as asthma, to avoid the area, to stay indoors and keep the windows closed due to the smoke.

Several witnesses published a video of the fire on social media, including Kasey Morgan.

The King's Plaza Mall is closed as fire and smoke spread. The mall said on Twitter that customers had to avoid the area.
