Knicks rookie Kevin Knox takes the field with a sprained ankle

The New York Knicks suffered a new fright Saturday night.

The team is already sick with the absence of Kristaps Porzingis, who is still in months back because of a torn ACL. Now the Knicks have just suffered another serious loss. Top-10 pick Kevin Knox was swept away by staff after a painful ankle injury in an attack on the Celtics.

Knox was the face of the franchise with Porzingis. The attack centered around the 19-year-old striker, Knox averaging 15 shots per game in the first two games and averaging 13.5 points over 44.4%.

Knox had high expectations for the season. According to a survey of recruits, he ranked third in number of votes for the winner of the Rookie of the Year award and second in the best career.

Shortly after Knox was helped, the Knicks ad he would not return to the game after X-rays revealed that he had had a sprained left ankle.
