Russian Deputy Defense Minister Alexander Fomin said that a US spy plane Poseidon-8 had coordinated the attack of Hmeymim air base in the city of Latakia, in the south-east of country.
He also said that the base had been destroyed by more than a dozen unmanned aircraft, according to the TASS news agency.
Mr. Fomin said that the drones were not operated by a sort of "peasant, but by a real Poseidon-8 equipped with modern technology," adding "it was flying manually drones".

Fomin also said the drones had been destroyed by Russian anti-aircraft defenses.

Mr Fomin also said that the Kremlin "is getting help to find the so-called holes through which he has begun to penetrate".
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov refused to rule out whether Vladimir Putin would raise the alleged attack on Donald Trump before the two leaders met in Paris for a summit on 11 November.
The news follows a frightening warning from US General Curtis Scaparrotti, who put Russia "in abeyance" last week in an interview, suggesting that the United States would intensify its "war capabilities" in the event of an attack. Imminent attack.
