KU Jayhawks vs. TCU Horned Frogs football: 27-26, 27/10/18

After competing with TCU for two of his three years as a Kansas coach, Beaty oversaw a breakthrough Saturday as the Jayhawks completed their fourth quarter return for a 27-26 win over TCU.

The win should give Beaty a chance to breathe a bit. The Jayhawks, who had lost four games in a row, improved to 3-5, while potentially extending Beaty's training timeline until at least the end of the season.

Saturday's biggest offense was KU's most dynamic playmaker.

With KU at the end of the fourth quarter, real Pooka Williams – affectionately dubbed "Pooka Magic" – managed a blistering pass, knocked out two defenders by cutting inside, and then stretched the ball on the goal line court score. Williams dropped the ball all around the goal line, but after reviewing the touchdown, KU took a 27-24 lead.

TCU had the chance to take the lead in the next possession, but TCU's Darius Anderson managed to slip through the top 10 for a point without contact with the defender. KeyShaun Simmons, of the KU, recovered and, after an examination, the ball was given to KU with a time of 1: 11.

The Jayhawks had a first run to help the ice before an intentional safety, while Beaty won his second Big 12 win and the first since his victory against Texas 24-21 in 2016.

As a result, KU achieved three wins in a season for the first time since 2014.

The Jayhawks will host the Iowa State at 11 am on November 3rd.
