The first trailer of "A Star Is Born" is released and stars Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga.

TORONTO – Here's a little movie you did not see coming.

At the Sunday night premiere of "A Star Is Born", which received enthusiastic reviews at the Toronto International Film Festival, first director Bradley Cooper revealed an unlikely venue before shooting the classic Hollywood film.

During the Q & A session that followed the screening, Cooper recalled an evening at Yankee Stadium where he saw a concert that changed the way he filmed his rock-star character, Jackson Maine.

"It was Metallica and I was behind Lars Ulrich's battery," Cooper said. "And I saw the scene through this point of view and I thought:" Oh wow, I can not believe I see the sweat on the back of the neck of Lars and almost feel his breath. "And also see the magnitude of the crowd."

Toronto: Critics are excited about Halloween, calling it the best movie since the original.

Cooper decided to keep his cameras near Maine in his movie. "It was the first idea that I had forever to be subjective (with what to show the viewer) on stage," he said.

Lady Gaga, who looked resplendent in a black dress of Armani Prive on the red carpet, tore apart by talking about her experience in making the film. "It was the greatest artistic experience of my career," she said, repeatedly giving congratulations to Cooper.

Gaga (whom Cooper calls by her birth name, Stefani) said their Italian roots had helped them bond at their first home summit. "Before I knew it, I was warming leftovers and we were eating together," she recalls. "When they started singing, I stopped playing instantly and I looked at it and said," Bradley, your voice is amazing. ""

The Toronto audience gave the film three ovations – one before the film was aired while Cooper delivered opening remarks, another in the film's credits and a final round of enthusiastic applause for Gaga during the question-and-answer session.

Dave Chappelle, who plays Jackson's oldest friend in "A star is born," grilled Cooper. "Tonight is the first night I saw myself in a good movie," he explained.

Here is a sample of the critics' reaction in Toronto.

"I want to officially excuse myself for doubting that Lady Gaga is absolutely out of the world.A STAR IS BORN celebrates the woman as she should – with every noble ambition of love and music and patience and of loyalty, full of pain and wonder, " wrote movie editor Ella Kemp.

"All the noise you hear about Bradley Cooper's" A star is born "is true wrote Steve Weintraub of the collider. "Absolutely adored and I can not believe it's his first feature film." Also @Ladygaga is just amazing and will be nominated for an Oscar for his performance and Best Song – I can not recommend this movie enough. "

"… are all the other movies ruined for me after the birth of Star? Maybe?" asked film critic Katie Walsh.
