The public is betting on the NBA as in the 1980s.
"They're all Lakers and Celtics," said Jeff Stoneback, Director of MGM Sportsbooks.

FanDuel said the Celtics accounted for 45% of the referee wagered on the odds of his sports betting to win the title. The biggest responsibility of FanDuel, which operates the sports betting at Meadowlands, New Jersey, is that of the New York Knicks, which are 500-1.
The Lakers or Celtics competed in all the finals of the 1980s NBA, including three classic meetings featuring Magic Johnson and Larry Bird.
