Columnist Charles M. Blow of The New York Times today published an editorial on a possible candidacy for the presidency of the former mayor of New Orleans, Mitch Landrieu.
"Landrieu, 58, has spent 30 years in politics, but he really began to be seen as a possible presidential candidate when he decided to demolish the Confederate statues in the city and gave a speech powerful and poetic explaining why "Coup writes. "We are now asking Mitch to run for president so often that his answers resemble those that have been refined by repetition, reduced to nothing and soft."
The column includes many quotes from a recent conversation that he had with Landrieu.
Bottom line? Blow does not think that there will be a 2020 campaign – but he believes that there will be one.
"I doubt that he is embarking on this cycle, even though he says that it is rewarding to be an ego and that he could not help but do it. remarks like: "If I had my choice and threw a coin, I would choose the mayors before I chose senators or members of Congress. "Mitch is still trying to determine if the timing is right, but even if it's not the case, I'm sure he'll have a day for a moment," Blow writes.
