Hurricane Michael has incited forecasters to issue tornado alerts. A trio of tornadoes was then confirmed in Georgia by the National Weather Service.
A tornado hit the ground near Roberta in Crawford County; it damaged seven houses and destroyed power lines in the area, leaving at least 1,000 homes without electricity in the area.
A video footage from Crawford County shows an old shed completely destroyed by the tornado with just an apparent boat in the middle of the rubble.
The brutal intensity of the storm was evident thanks to a section of trees that had been broken in two when the tornado had ravaged the area.
The owners reported being informed of the presence of a tornado around 16h (local time) Wednesday and heard what they thought was a freight train, according to WXIA-TV.
The couple said to be snuggled under a couch when the tornado hit and that many trees fell on their house.
The first tornado in Georgia was shot near Perry to 16h local hour. A second hour later, a second time, Fort Valley was hit by a second tornado, followed by a third to Roberta.
The tornado threat remained in place until 2am (07:00 BST) while Hurricane Michael caused considerable damage in Florida.
Experts said that Hurricane Michael was more powerful than Hurricane Katrina, which caused many destructions in New Orleans in 2005.
Meteorologist Philip Klotzbach said that Hurricane Michael was the third most violent hurricane to have landed in the mainland of the United States.
Hurricane Michael has so far killed at least two people on the American continent.
A man died after a tree fell on his house and local authorities announced the death of a child in Seminola County, Georgia.
The National Hurricane Center (NHC) said in a public notice at 7am that Michael was heading north-east and that they expect the storm to reach central Georgia. Thursday afternoon.
The notice read as follows: "Michael is heading northeast at about 31 km / h (20 mph) and this general motion is expected to continue this morning. A northeasterly movement at a faster speed is expected later in the night from Friday to Friday.
"On the forecast trail, Michael's core will cross central and eastern Georgia this morning, then south and central South Carolina later in the day."
The NHC added: "Michael will then move north-east across the southeastern United States and off the mid-Atlantic coast in early Friday."
Michael was about to qualify for the 5 – 1 mph class on Wednesday, fueled by warm weather in the Gulf of Mexico.
More than 375,000 people up and down the Gulf Coast have been asked to evacuate, and the Hurricane Hurricane has sent a storm into the neighborhoods at the 39th. approach to it.
