Here's an overview of the final injury report for Sunday's 6th week game between the Jets and Colts at MetLife Stadium.
(Click here for Thursday's injury report.)
JETS
Outside: WR Charone Peake (hamstrings), DB Buster Skrine (concussion)
doubtful: LB Kevin Pierre-Louis (foot), DB Trumaine Johnson (quad)
Questionable: Isaiah Crowell (ankle), DB Marcus Maye (ankle / foot), DB Doug Middleton (hamstring)
Did not practice: WR Charone Peake (hamstring), CB Trumaine Johnson (quad), CB Buster Skrine (concussion), ILB Kevin Pierre-Louis (foot),
Limited participant: S Marcus Maye (ankle, foot), S Doug Middleton (hamstring), RB Isaiah Crowell (ankle)
Full participant: TE Neal Sterling (concussion), C Spencer Long (knee, finger), WR / RET Andre Roberts (elbow, foot), DL Foley Fatukasi (hamstring), DE Nathan Shepherd (shoulder), LT Kelvin Beachum (foot) , WR Terrelle Pryor (groin), DE Leonard Williams (back)
What this means: Skrine is not surprised, since it's his fourth concussion since 2015. Unless unforeseen, Johnson will be out for a second week in a row, leaving the Jets without two of their top three cornerbacks .
Head coach Todd Bowles said the Jets would use their other five corners – Darryl Roberts, Parry Nickerson, Juston Burris, Rashard Robinson and Derrick Jones – to cover the holes. But expect the vast majority of work go to Jones (who will play outside) and Nickerson (in the slot).
The absence of Peake and the probability of the absence of Pierre-Louis constitute a blow for the special teams. They are two of the best Jets players in this unit.
Maye will almost certainly play Sunday; he has been classified as questionable and has played in the last two weeks.
Crowell and Middleton are a little more certain, but have a decent chance to see the field too. Middleton appeared Thursday on the injury report and spent the last two days being limited, but he still practiced. Crowell is a bit less fortunate since he missed Wednesday and Thursday before hitting the field on Friday.
The best news for the Jets is that Williams was back to full participation on Friday. The Jets' featured defensive sign said that Thursday's absence was due to the fact that he woke up with a backache. But keeping it out of practice was mostly a precaution and Williams was back to normal on Friday.
Bowles still did not exclude defensive coordinator Kacy Rodgers as coach against the Colts. He said there was no update since he felt there was a "small chance" that Rodgers coaches would be back on Wednesday.
A major advance by Sam Darnold
COLTS
Outside: DL Denico Autry, TE Jack Doyle, WR T.Y. Hilton, DB Clayton Geathers, DE Margus Hunt, RT Denzelle Good
What this means: The Colts will not have their best receiver at Hilton and will also be deprived of their Hunt co-bag leader. These are two good breaks for the Jets. Hilton's status is particularly fortuitous given the fact that the Jets have been relegated to the background. This is one less threat to which the decimated defensive bottom will face.
Colts head coach Frank Reich announced that these six players would be away early Friday, but the full report on the team's injuries has not been released yet.
