Authorities say that charges are being filed against a man involved in a gunfire in a Chicago suburban bar, which resulted in the death of a police officer who shot and killed an armed security guard.
The spokeswoman for the Cook County Sheriff's Office, Sophia Ansari, said Monday that this man was among the four injured on Sunday morning during a shootout in Manny's blue room at Robbins, just south of Chicago.
Investigators said security guard Jemel Roberson, 26, was shot dead by a Midlothian officer, a neighbor, who responded to the shootings.
Adam Harris says that he has witnessed the shooting. He told WGN-TV that the officer had shot Roberson despite people "shouting" that he was a security guard.
Reverend Marvin Hunter says that Roberson played organ in his church and in other churches in the area. Hunter says Roberson was a "remarkable" man recovering his son 's custody and making enough money for a deposit in a new apartment.
Illinois State Police are investigating.

According to the authorities, a police officer who was responding to a Chicago suburb bar shot dead an armed security officer who was working there.
The Cook County Sheriff's Office said the officers reacted shortly after 4am Sunday to a shot at Manny's blue room at Robbins. Sheriff spokeswoman Sophia Ansari said an officer from the nearby town of Midlothian shot dead a man later identified as Jemel Roberson, 26 years old.
Ansari said four other people were shot, but their injuries were not considered life-threatening. She said that at least one of them would have fired shots during the shootout before the police arrived.
The officers of Robbins and Midlothian were first on the scene. Robbins chief of police Roy Wells told reporters Sunday that the first shot was caused by a fight.
