HOOVER, Ala. – Latest news on the shooting in a mall in Alabama (local time):

About 200 people marched through an Alabama mall to protest the shooting death of a man whom the police mistakenly believed to be the gunman who had shot and wounded two people.
Protesters gathered at the Riverchase Galleria Mall in the suburbs of Birmingham, where 21-year-old Emantic "EJ" Bradford Jr. was shot dead by a police officer who was responding to reports of gunfire.
The police initially thought that Bradford was responsible for shooting two people at the mall, but she later retracted it. They then stated that it was unlikely that Bradford fired.
The police are currently looking for an armed gunman who they say has shot and wounded an 18-year-old man and a 12-year-old boy.
The demonstrators observed a minute of silence for Bradford at the place where he was killed. Bradford's mother-in-law, Cynthia, described him as a respectful young man and said he was the son of a Birmingham police officer.

Emantic Fitzgerald Bradford, 21, was shot and killed by a police officer who responded to the Thanksgiving shootout that injured a young man aged 18 to 12.
Captain Gregg Rector said in a press release Friday that new evidence suggested that Bradford "may have been involved in an aspect of the altercation, but he probably did not shoot the cartridges that hurt the victim aged 18 ".
Police said an officer had shot Bradford because he had been seen "brandishing a handgun" while fleeing the scene.
The rector said that they now thought that more than two people were involved in the altercation that sparked the shooting and that an armed man was on the run.

A man was shot dead by police following a fight in an Alabama mall, which caused shots that injured a teenager and a 12-year-old girl.
A police statement said the shooting took place shortly before 22 hours. Thursday at the Riverchase Galleria in Hoover, outside Birmingham.
According to the statement, two Hoover agents in the mall clashed with a 21-year-old man from Hueytown with a gun and one of the officers shot him. His name has not been broadcast.
An 18-year-old man was taken to a Birmingham hospital for treatment.
Captain Greg Rector said at a press conference that a 12-year-old girl hit by gunshots had been hospitalized. She has been reported in stable condition in the Children's Hospital.
A mall security officer said the mall had reopened Friday at 6am.
