Authorities say three people died in a rural area in southeastern Georgia.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation released a brief statement on its twitter page Tuesday night, claiming that the deaths of two women and one teenager had been confirmed in Charlton County. GBI spokeswoman Nelly Miles confirmed to the Associated Press that these women were adult women.
The statement does not say how they died, but said that there was no immediate threat to the surrounding community.
Police officers were sent Wednesday into the small community of St. George, near the border between the state of Georgia and Florida. According to WJAX-TV, officers were in a house located near an unpaved road filming a crime scene and removing boxes from the house.

Georgia Bureau of Investigation spokeswoman Nelly Miles said in an email on Tuesday that agents had been sent to Charlton County, where "there are several confirmed deaths." She gave no further details, but added that further information would be provided once the next of kin was informed.
Dispatcher Tina Myers of the Charlton County Sherriff Office said investigators had been sent to the small community of St. George. She added that any additional information would come from GBI, the main agency responsible for law enforcement in the state.
Charlton County is located on the border of the state of Georgia and Florida and includes the eastern parts of the Okefenokee Marsh.
