Former Manchester United defender Gary Neville reacted with emotion to Mirror Sport's exclusivity that Jose Mourinho would be sacked by the Old Trafford leaders after the weekend.
Mourinho will leave the club, regardless of his result against Newcastle on Saturday, and Neville asked the United board to make his decision, saying he was "rotten" when making his decision.
Kelly Cates, Sky Sports presenter, announced the news of our story in Neville after Brighton's 1-0 win over West Ham. Cates then asked the pandit if he thought it was the right decision to remove Mourinho.
"No. To be honest with you, Kelly, I'm mad." I'm furious about coming back three or four years ago, when David Moyes was fired, while the reporters cracked him the night before.
"I think of Louis van Gaal who was fired the day before the final of a cup and who was discovered by other people. I think about how the club is operated.
"If this is true, we do not know if this is true, but if that is true, and that Jose Mourinho will leave Old Trafford tomorrow almost like a dead man walking, these fans will absolutely turn to this boardroom."
